Book Blogger Hop (September 24-26)

Welcome all bloggers to the book blogger hop! Sorry we are so behind in getting this post up, blame it on lack of computer time, 2 children and a crazy life that never gives. *smiles*

Okay, so this weeks question is:

When you write reviews, do you write them as you are reading or wait until you have read the entire book?

For me, I definitely wait until I finish the book. Besides the obvious reason that I do not have the time with 2 kids hanging off me to write a review in the middle of a book, there is the other reason. That reason is that my feelings could totally change by the end of the book. I definitely feel that I need the whole book to discover if an author is a good author and has the ability to make me fall for their characters. It's one of the reasons I try to finish books I read, because I may end up really liking a book that I originally did not.

I can tell you that I most defiantly wait to write and rant about a book until I have finished every last word. The beginning of the book might stink and the ending will redeem the book to be an okay... pretty good read. Or the book can have an amazing beginning and then have the crappiest of crap endings.

Let's sum it up:

Oh me...oh my...oh goodness...I wait until the entire book is read.

Looks like me and Black Disaster Fairy have similar opinions on the matter which makes it even more likely that we are twins from different mothers. So, that being said we'd like to welcome all new bloggers to our blog and happy hopping!

In honor of the Book Blogger Appreciation week, which blogs are your favorite and why??

Obsessed: Bella is fabulous! I don’t know if you have ever read her blog, but it always has the ability to put a smile on my face no matter what! She has so much wit and snark I feel like it makes me quicker at the same time! I love it!

Tomes Devotee: First thing that drew me to Paula’s blog was her music playlist I got to listen to. From there I was addicted. She reads so many of the books I do and gets my addiction to PNR. I love having friends in the world I live in…the vampire/werewolf world that is!

There are so many good blogs out there! How do I choose? I'll start off with two blogs from people I have meet through the online world who have become amazing friends! These two girls have become my go to girls when I crave to talk about books.

There are a few blogs that I find myself needing to check more often then others. Because they provide great reviews. I also believe that they put part of their personalities into their posts. I enjoy them because I feel that their humor and wit is similar to my own! However, this may not be a good thing. My mouth has received me with great pleasure and well, lots of trouble!

Book Blogger Hop (September 10-13)

Alrighty then, it's Friday which means it's time to kick some ace and start blog hoppin'!

For all those new people who are reading our blog, we are fairly new so we don't have a ton of stuff posted, and we've been seriously struggling to come up with the perfect rating system which is why you don't see the reviews you are looking for, but trust me when I say they are definitely coming.

This week has been a bit nuts with Black Disaster Fairy's phone going on the fritz and not being able to get a hold of her (way better than thinking she is in the hospital though)! That being said, we didn't get any posts in this week, but I hope everyone had a fantastic week!


Now, this weeks quest for the book blogger is to post your favorite post or book review. Now being what I said before and we are still missing some stuff, I'm going to go with our sexy writing feature as being one of my favorite posts (click HERE). I loved it because it was so much fun to write up a story. Given I need to still edit it, but I was fun coming up with a crazy story for the selected photo!

This weeks questions is: Do you judge a book by it's cover?

Jen: Sadly to say, I most definitely do. That is to say that I pick the covers off the shelf that I love. I don't read a ton of books with horrible covers and it truly and most definitely would deter me if I saw one with a horrible cover. I know, I know, that is like against the law or something in the book world, but publishers should know this when they publish books. PEOPLE JUDGE BOOKS BY THEIR COVERS. Its just the way it is. However, all that being said, if a book has a horrible cover but I here it's excellent I would probably read it. I'm not that horrible *laughs maliciously*

Well, not horrible as far as books are concerned. *grins*

BDF: *Polietly puts down irrestiable cheesecake and City of Ashes on the nearby table.* Yes, I do know I am evil at times.

Now that Jen is off poking around in my yummy homemade cheesecake I can take a stab at the question on hand.

Do you judge a book by its cover?

*Crosses Legs* Oh, my. It is such a personal question. Between us, I must admit that my mind sends messages to my hands about how interesting, beautiful, or simple the cover is. Lets be clear. I do tend to judge a book by its cover. I hardly ever read the synopsis, scratch that. I NEVER read the synopsis, I like to enjoy a book for every word without knowing some of the plot. I pick up a book because of word of mouth goodness has been passed to sugar up a book, I read other blog reviews by you that point me in the good direction or I most defiantely pick a book by its cover. Many times these methods have not let me down. Although, my worst case read because of beautiful cover art has been Fallen by Lauren Kate.

Just look at that cover! It is beautiful! Creepy, Dark, Gothic, Hot Dress, and the Face is Hidden. The cover has everything! The words not so much. Despite that fact it sits on my shelf. I cannot bare to part with this awful book because the cover is so macliously wonderful. It is even soft to the touch with a velvety glide. *prrr*

No matter how you like your cover I do perfer you have a wonderful read in your hands!

This has been an exciting week. The last hop was so much fun and I must say that I am flattered to have so many people comment on our blog.

This weeks questions is:
Do you use a rating system, what is it and why?

Currently we don't have our rating system up, but once we do, it will contain our stamp of approval for our most luscious fictional boyfriends (lets just say there are flames involved *grins*). We are also working on a wickedly sexy rating system. Once we are all in order we will be posting some book reviews you will be wanting to devour.

Since Wicked. Sexy. Books. Is a new blog we are still a work in progress. We started off with Fictional Boyfriends. Who wouldn't enjoy a post about amazing guys and delicious photos. However, we hope you come back because we will soon also have posts on the Hottest Heroines. I have found plenty of hot heroines that many should not want to run into.
