Fire Burn &
Cauldron Bubble

By: H.P. Mallory
Series:  Jolie Wilkins Series
Publisher:  Smashwords
E-Book!!
Rating: 4.5
Book Art: Cute... 4
Genre:  Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Adult

First Line:  It's not every day you see a ghost.

Review:

Jolie finds out that she simply is not what she thought she was.  How do you go from being a fortune teller to a person with the ability to see ghosts?  Ok, perhaps that would be fun for a little while.  I mean so many of us HUMANS want to be something other then what we are now.  Crazy.  But for Jolie things get a bit crazier, not only does she see ghosts but she is able to make the dead come back to life!  Wow!  Now those are some crazy super powers.  Someone needs to call Batman and tell him to hang up his cape.  Seriously, I love Batman!  Don't really do that.

Soon a tall dark handsome man comes to her psychic shop to sweep her off her feet hire her to help find out who killed the ghost.  Rand is a warlock who helps show Jolie that she is truly a witch, and boy, a powerful grandmommy of them to boot!  He also shows her that she can never go back to being a plain ol' human.  I mean who would want to?  Not I, said the Fairy!  However, Rand has this one rule that makes you grin because you know there will be some rule breaking somewhere, it is a paranormal romance after all!  Rand does not think that a boss should not mix business with pleasure with his employee.
Save a Tree – Read an e-book Button
Well, I'll be darn... let the rule breaking begin!  Ok, I will spare you from all of the lusting yummy hotness because I know you want to read that for yourself.  (Which I recommend you do!)  Another witch tries to claim Jolie for herself.  Which I did not see coming but was a great plot twist because our handsome stud, Rand, battle for his right to keep Jolie as an employee.  Wait!  He just wants to keep his employee?  There must be some magical labor laws.  Hmm... There is more!  He is also battling his growing feelings for Jolie.  *Ahh*  I told you there would be some rule breaking!

I did not have a problem getting into the book.  Although, I must admit that I was hoping for a bit more of a clean ending.  Perhaps, just more BANG!  Fear not! This is just the first in the series, we will learn more later on.  Even with the wanting more at the end, I was never bored throughout the book.  It was highly addictive.  Like the Dark Chocolate the Fairy Loves so much!  I hope HP Mallory keeps the wit and interesting characters coming.  This story was just as fun to read as her other book and would be just too hard to pick out which one I liked the most.

I am now a fan!

Glass Houses Cover War & Review

US ........................... UK ............................ Germany

Thailand ................................. Brazil

Book: Glass Houses

Author: Rachel Caine
Publisher: October 3rd 2006 by NAL Jam
Pages: 248
Genre: Young Adult, Horror, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

This book was a wonderful opening to a series that has you checking your locks and making sure that you have your bustled derriere in the house before the sun sets. Even under these circumstance, you can still enjoy a scrumptious piece of cheesecake. *Yum* Or a sexy beefcake or two in this most enticing book.

I can just picture Jen tossing me some of those glances that say skip straight to the silky Shane who begs to have some hands laid on him. It was a oh so gratifying night of reading when images of Shane dance through your head.

Oh me oh my, I would like a piece of the Shane pie! Oh yeah...I just said that! I love the fact that Shane is an adult in the book, I believe he is 19... makes me feel all sorts of warm and fuzzy inside. *grins maliciously*. Shane is our sexy ball of muscle who can sort out the nasty vampires and keep them away from his lovely woman. I always love a guy with with a snarky attitude and a rock hard bod to boot. *purr's* Come here my strong, sexy man, lets see what is in store in Morganville next!

Onward, to some well prepared details of Glass Houses. Claire is a sixteen year old student who is attending a small college in Morganville, Texas. She is a smart cookie who is clueless about the vampire ran town. You either live under the protection of a vampire or you live in fear.

Claire becomes the new punching bag for the campus self proclaimed Queen. Instead of staying on campus to take in an onslaught of beatings she desperately searches for off campus housing she can afford. Claire decides to check out a particular place that she found in an ad. Standing on the sidewalk, Eve talked or manipulated her into coming inside to meet the others that she lives with.

Michael Glass, owner of the Glass House is a mysterious young man who spends his life during the night hours rocking out and playing video games, meanwhile he sleeps his days away. Men who can play drums or a guitar can make my toes curl. What a talent!?! *Pets Michael* You shall become one of our minions one day! Mwah ha ha! Before Jen comes back, lets get back on track, shall we? I should mention that the house has special gifts, however, I simply cannot tell you more. Ruining a book for another bibliophile is never a good thing.

No, it's not, so we won't tell you what the house can do. You should, of course, read the book to find out! However, we will say this, it's quite interesting. Still though, maybe not as interesting as the odd turn of events that go on with Michael. Something of which we also won't be specific on. Too much goodness there as well. And what about Eve? Oh, she is one of my favorite characters. With her snaz and gothic style sense....plus, I just love her bitchy illicitly cruel remarks towards the douches around her. That is correct, I said douches.*love that word* *grins* What do you think BDFairy?

I think Eve dug around in my too amazing closet. Yesterday, I was rock'n the tights with skulls and knee high black boots. I love to turn heads!

Now we get to the gruesome dirty job of picking out which book cover art we swoon over. There are 5 amazing options... my heart suffers. How ever will we be able to pick out just one?

Choices, choices. However, I think the Brazil book cover art speaks to me. I love just how completely eerie and Gothic the cover is looking. Also, the girl manages to look hot without seeing her face & I get to keep my own images.

And for me...I'm going to go with the Thailand cover. Normally I prefer covers that do NOT have the full face showing so I can get a better image in my head, but alas, her eyes call to me. It gives it that creepy mysterious feel.

Let us know what you think of the book
& which is your favorite Cover Art!

Isabelle Lightwood - Chain & A Whip!

Our First

Chain Whip Welding

Book: City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels
By: Cassandra Clare
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Modern Fantasy (Present Day)
Location: New York City

I think we are getting all steamy here on Photobucket I mean we have had some hot photos for our eyes to drink in of some chiseled male hotness. However, I am willing admitting this just in case someone thinks Jen is twisting my arm or whipping me. I do get excited over a fabulous female character. I mean they can knock you off your feet and make your jaw drop just as good as a sweaty romp. *Steals the last cookie on the plate* So, Jen how does a good sexy heroine make you feel?

Exactly so! I mean, what could be better than a strong female who can kick some ass in the process?! I've always been a very strong supporter of a powerful female character in general. I mean, who needs all that mopping when you can have, instead, power all wrapped up in a sexy female body. I've actually been pondering this wholeheartedly within the last year. I have yet to see how a woman who must be taken care of is somehow lovely. Yes, as a female, it's nice to have someone there just in case, but I'd prefer that somebody let me distribute the first blow instead of making me sit on the side lines. Isabelle Lightwood from Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments is just such a vigorous female character.

Isabelle Lightwood may not be the main female character in the Mortal Instruments series, but despite that fact, she turned me on from the first pages. I mean a young woman welding a chain whip to kill demons. I mean that is extremely hot! It doesn't take much to picture leather thigh high boots and a killer smile to real in her men! *Drooling* I already know I want a pair of her boots! Speaking of desires. Jen that corset is really becoming on you.

Why thank you! Oh, and I'm in agreement with you on those boots! I have a pair on order, they would have been perfect for today, but special orders do take longer you know. I wonder if we could find one of those demon murdering whips somewhere on special order as well. I'll have to keep a lookout.

Remember that very first scene where we get to see her with it? She is in the club Pandemonium going after that demon. I can see it in my head now, Photobucket
...She moved with lightning swiftness, striking out at him with her open hand, a blow to his chest that would have sent him down gasping if he'd been a human being. He staggered back, and now there was something in her hand, a coiling whip that glinted gold as she brought it down, curling around his ankles, jerking him off his feet. He hit the ground, writhing, the hated metal biting deep into his skin. She laughed, standing over him, and dizzily he though that he should have known. No human girl would wear a dress like the one Isabelle wore. She'd worn it to cover her skin--all of her skin.

Isabelle yanked hard on the whip, securing it. Her smile glittered like poisonous water. "He's all yours, boys."
You said it Isabelle!!

Oh, yes! Photobucket The first chapter scene is the one I was rolling around in my mind when I mentioned Isabelle turning me on. I mean how steamy is that paragraph!?! Clare's opening really stoked me up for the rest of the book.

I think we may have bantered on like a duo of hot young Contessa rulers. Honestly though, you do not have to take our word for it. But do make sure you have your lace fan ready so you can cool yourself off. Trust me Isabelle is not the only smoking character in this series. We will dare to touch on Bad Boy Jace another risque day.

We would like to bid you a good day. For it is time for us to go visit our harem, indeed it would be very impolite to be late.

Photo Picks:

Dakota Fanning

My oh my! Add a whip to these photos
and
Dang, she has Mouthwatering Hott written all over her!

Grown into her own woman!
I want that dress, hun!
Dear, how about I borrow both. Permanently.

Photo Picks:

My idea for Isabelle is a little different than BDF's idea...
**Great minds even think differently every so often -- BDF**

(the first one is Anne Hathaway and the others are Jessica Stroup)
Anne Hathaway
To me, this is the spitting image of Isabelle. I could totally see her busting out her chain whip and creating havoc on a unsuspecting demon! Then laying back like nothing happened. (That is a fabulous dress too!!)

I also think that Jessica Stroup would make an excellent Isabelle. She is quite striking, is she not!!! Her eyes are so stunning, they mesmerize me (especially in that middle photo)

Flourish

Well, there you have it!
Our Hottest Heroine of the day will whip you into place.
She is one hot character to have on your bedside table!

You can find Isabelle Lightwood in.
City of Fallen Angels Book Cover will be revealed in
December 2010.
